I wasn't exactly sure how to approach this project and basically was grasping for ideas and these are the things I came up with :
This was basically the "experimented one" testing out how to use the new commands, making sure that the twist, bend stretch, etc. were going the way I planned them and how to do it if I can't.
When it came to concepts I basically just played with rhino till I think of something coherent. I was trying to do a sort of octopus inspired thing with this but then I experimented with the sphere shaped stretching and tapering it. I couldn't really get the octopus concept I was trying for in this one and it kind of ended up as some sort of boob mothership...
I think this is the concept where I felt more satisfied with my octopus concept. I really like what I tried to do with the tentacles, it felt a little less "alien" than the last one and more "sea creature." I also thing I'm getting used with manipulating the sphere, for some reason I found it really hard on this and the 2nd one when it comes to the recently taught commands, I can't seem to get it exactly as I envisioned it to be.
I was genuinely running out of ideas here, I wasn't sure with my ocean concept anymore because as I was trying to do others it ended up as just being a copy of the previous 2 so I decided to do something completely different and I was searching for inspiration I wondered if this kind of shape would work with the hollow object concept. As I've said I experimented with the sphere again, I think here I came a bit farther but the hard part with this is the sort of "softening." Human bodies are mostly made out of curves rather than straight line and that was...difficult. I'm genuinely not sure if this would work with this assignment but I just wanted to try and see if I can push myself and do a bit more of organic shapes.
I feel as if this is a failure compared to the others but I'm just genuinely curious if this thing would be 3d printable and if it would be possible in this assignment. It's based off of Luffy's straw hat from one piece and I was basically just barely holding on when doing this so I wanted to try something a little indulgent.
I tried to do a flower sort of shape in this one but as I look at it now I realize it's going back to the ocean concept again but with corals. There really wasn't much thought put into this, I just thought "What would seem interesting to make?" I tried to do a rose sort of pattern but I've clearly failed but still this seems like an interesting concept so I continued.
